COMMANDER of Royal Brunei Air Force (RBAirF), Brigadier General (U) Dato Seri Pahlawan Haji Wardi bin Haji Abd Latip, attended the 11th Asean Air Chief Conference (AACC) in Nay Pyi Taw, Myanmar, on September 25.
The conference gathered all Air Forces’ Chiefs from all the 10 Asean member countries to discuss cooperation and integration with the members in pursuit of further prosperity and stability within the region.
The Commander of Royal Brunei Air Force was accompanied by his spouse Pg Datin Umi Suhana PIP Pg Hj Hamdan.
Also at the conference were Lieutenant Colonel (U) Rahman bin Durahman, Commanding Officer of RBAirF Operation Wing, and delegations from the Royal Brunei Air Force.
All attendees during the conference were welcomed by the Commander-in-Chief of Myanmar Air Force, General Zaya Kyaw Htin Khin Aung Myint during the opening dinner at Thingaha Hotel.
During the conference, delegates discussed and exchanged the vision and practices on the 11th AACC theme, “Defence Cooperation towards Peaceful and Prosperous Asean Community”, adopted the 1st Asean Air Forces Education and Training Working Group Meeting (AAFET-WG) minutes, discussed on the establishment of AAFET-WG permanent members from Asean Air Forces, adopted the minutes of 11th AACC and reviewed other matters.
The conference ended in a positive note, with the chairman’s remarks that peace and prosperous Asean Community would emerge through efforts in education and training process.
During the conference, the Commander of Royal Brunei Air Force paid bilateral calls to the Commander-in-Chief of Myanmar Air Force, Republic of Singapore Air Force, Royal Thai Air Force and Myanmar Deputy Commander in Chief of Defence Services after signing of the conference minutes.
