WITH the consent of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, Minister of Defence and Supreme Commander of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF), the RBAF announced the promotion of seven of its Senior Officers.
RBAF Commander, Pehin Datu Pekerma Jaya Major General Dato Paduka Seri Mohd Tawih bin Abdullah, presented the rank insignias to the officers yesterday during a ceremony at the Officers’ Mess, Bolkiah Garrison.
286 Colonel Pengiran Dato Paduka Aminan bin Pengiran Haji Mahmud, Commander of the Royal Brunei Land Force, was promoted to Brigadier General.
Three senior officers who became Substantive Colonels were 307 Lieutenant Colonel (L) Hussein bin Dato Paduka Haji Mohammad, 373 Lieutenant Colonel Khairul Hamed bin Awang Haji Lampoh and 383 Lieutenant Colonel (L) Haji Yusuf bin Masron.
Meanwhile, three senior officers; 435 Major (U) Pengiran Haji Mohd Hasreen bin Pengiran Haji Ali Hassan, 480 Major Suriyati binti Haji Junaidi and 497 Major Muhd Wata bin Haji Abdullah Awat were promoted to Acting Lieutenant Colonels.
Also present at the ceremony were the Deputy Minister of Defence, Dato Paduka Haji Mustappa bin Haji Sirat; members of the Defence Executive Committee; commandants, directors, senior officers and officers of the Ministry of Defence and RBAF as well as family members of the promoted senior officers.
Such promotion underpins RBAF’s strategic objectives towards enhancing the condition of service and morale of officers as well as proper career management and opportunities.
