A FLAG handover ceremony was conducted yesterday at the mini stadium at the Bolkiah Garrison for the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) marching band, which will participate in the Kuala Lumpur International Tattoo 2014 from October 10-12, at Stadium Merdeka, Kuala Lumpur.
The flag was handed over by the Commander of the RBAF, Pehin Datu Pekerma Jaya Major General Dato Paduka Seri Mohd Tawih bin Abdullah to the Acting Director of the RBAF marching band, 652 Lieutenant Md Idrus bin Haji Awang, who will lead the delegation to Malaysia.
During the ceremony, the marching band put on a performance and a thanksgiving prayer was recited by Deputy Head of the RBAF Religious Department, Captain Ariffin bin Amit @ Hamid.
This is the second time the marching band will be participating in the event, which is being jointly organised by the Malaysian armed forces and the Ministry of Tourism in conjunction with the country’s recent 57th Independence Day celebration and the Visit Malaysia Year 2014 tourism event.
The delegation comprises 74 members from the armed forces, navy and land forces, including the Second and Third Battalion Pipe Instruments and Drums Team.
The delegation will leave on October 6 and return on October 14.
