ROYAL Brunei Airlines (RB) officially opened its office located at the Ground Floor of Citilight Tower in Ho Chi Minh City yesterday. It also marked the reinstatement of direct flights to the city.
RB announced in July that it would resume flights to Ho Chi Minh City four times a week starting yesterday.
The national carrier now flies Ho Chi Minh City (SGN) to and from Bandar Seri Begawan (BWN) every Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday.
Every Tuesday and Thursday flight BI381 departs 1230hrs and 1255hrs from BWN to SGN and arrives 1320hrs and 1345hrs respectively while flight BI382 departs 1405hrs and 1430hrs and arrives 1320hrs and 1345hrs respectively from SGN to BWN
On Fridays and Sundays, flight BI383 departs 1845hrs and 1825hrs from BWN to SGN and arrives 1935hrs and 1915hrs respectively while flight BI384 departs 2020hrs and 2000hrs from SGN to BWN and arrives 2315hrs and 2255hrs respectively.
“The return of RB to this route creates more holiday options for travellers in Brunei Darussalam. In addition, our regional and long haul customers, especially from Melbourne, Dubai and London, now have the opportunity to experience the tranquility of Brunei followed by the hustle and bustle of Ho Chi Minh City,” said the Deputy Chairman of RB, Dermot Mannion.
Also present at the event were Roslan Yacub as a representative of the Brunei Embassy in Vietnam and Deks Air Group CEO Daniel Sin as well as travel agents.
Meanwhile, RB has signed an agreement with British Airways to extend its route network to include a further six UK destinations via London Heathrow.
According to businesstraveller.com, the deal will extend RB’s reach, via BA’s domestic fleet, to Manchester, Glasgow, Leeds Bradford, Edinburgh, Aberdeen and Belfast.
Business class passengers will get access to all BA business lounges, while all passenger baggage will be checked-in all the way to the end destination.
Dermot Mannion, RB’s Deputy Chairman, said, “As the only airline to guarantee a 100 per cent Dreamliner service on all long-haul flights, extending our route network throughout the UK through our partnership with British Airways means that even more passengers are now able to fly in comfort to a broad range of destinations in the Middle East, Asia and Australasia.”
