HEALTH is the word of this weekend as Raw Food Asia, in collaboration with Astera Consultant, hosts the two-day ‘Wellness Weekend’.
There will be talks by Susan Laing, an Iridologist and Nutritionist from the UK; Shariff Abdullah, a Singaporean Blade Runner’, and Lindsay Gasik, a durian researcher from the US.
Mewsum Wong, Founder of Raw Food Asia, and Siti Kaprawi, Senior Consultant at Astera Consultant, said Laing would teach participants how to make ‘Super Foods’ – food that is good for the gut – and how to cleanse the liver gallbladder.
She will also present an introduction to Iridology and conduct a specialist Iridology eye test.
Meanwhile, Gasik will be presenting a scientific outlook of the durian. Together with her husband, she has travelled to 12 countries in the past two years to study and record the various types of durian.
She said there are thousands of different durian, with each country having its own type.
Shariff Abdullah is slated to share the inspirational story of how his life went from bottom to the top. He has taken part in almost 20 marathons, ranging from 175km to 520km marathons, from 2009 till now.
The event will be held at the Ministry of Industry and Primary Resources and is sponsored by Sunshine Borneo Tours, Brunei Hotel, NHF, Astera Consultant, MSK Sdn Bhd, Brunei Detox Bar, Forever Green Organic, Superwater Marketing, Fruitime, Chambray Blue, Bath & Beauty by Carlene, The Borneo Pantry, Project SAFE, RFA Youth, RFA Fruit Enzyme and Green Brunei.
