BASED on the latest current weather chart and numerical weather prediction models, Brunei Darussalam is expected to experience unsettled weather conditions due to the combination of moisture convergence and strengthening of the cold Northeast surges extended from Mainland China to the region.
According to a press release, these conditions will lead to an increase in rainfall activities over the country between Saturday (December 27) and Monday *December 29).
The strong Northeast surges are also expected to increase the wave height over the Brunei waters from Moderate to Rough state up to 3.5 metres, especially over offshore areas with wind speed increasing up to 60 km/hr.
In light of this, the general public, motorists, and mariners are advised to take necessary steps and precautions to ensure their safety.
The Weather Services Division of the Brunei Darussalam Meteorological Department will continue to monitor the weather conditions closely and will issue appropriate weather advisory or warnings, as and when necessary according to its Standard Operating Procedures.
