DOHA (Bernama) – Minister of State for Defence Affairs Maj Gen Hamad bin Ali Al Attiyah met here Sunday with Sudanese Defence Minister Lieutenant-General Abdelrahim Mohamed Hussein, Qatar News Agency (QNA) reported.
They held talks on bilateral cooperation and how to enhance the relationship, especially in the military fields.
The two sides also signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on military cooperation.
The MoU was signed by the Minister of State for Defence Affairs and the Sudanese defence minister who praised the brotherly relations between Sudan and Qatar.
He said that bilateral relations had witnessed further development thanks to the two countries’ leadership and the common desire to widen relationship for benefit of the two countries’ citizens.
In a statement to Qatar News Agency (QNA), the Sudanese Defence Minister said that the signing of the MoU represented a significant step towards strengthening the existing relations between Doha and Khartoum, especially between the two armed forces. He said the signing comes in the context of the brotherly relations extended between the two countries, noting at the same time the position of the State of Qatar in supporting the Sudanese issues.
