THE Brunei History Centre (BHC) yesterday held a publication roadshow to introduce ‘Pusaka,’ a magazine that has been republished with fresh content, face cover and format – appropriate for school children.
Held at the Kampong Perpindahan Lambak Kanan Jalan 10 Primary School, the roadshow was conducted by the Publications and Marketing Division, which is responsible for publishing historical materials on Brunei, covering subjects such as religion, economics, politics and legends.
The roadshow hoped to highlight to teachers and students the importance of Brunei history, to disseminate information on particular events and historical facts to serve as a reference/guidebook for the present and coming generations; and to promote books published by the Brunei History Centre, particularly Pusaka.
It also aimed to foster interest and encourage both teachers and students to pen a concise history of Brunei from different aspects, which could then be published in Pusaka magazine. This will enrich our historical references, with Pusaka being the appropriate medium.
Following the roadshow briefing, the students witnessed the ‘Takapan’ activity and ‘Khat’ Jawi calligraphy.
