THE Brunei Association of Surveyors, Engineers and Architects (PUJA) in collaboration with The Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf (CBTL) and Blood Donation Centre, Laboratory Services Department of Ministry of Health (MoH), organised a blood donation drive yesterday.
The blood donation drive was held at the CBTL, The Centrepoint Hotel, Gadong. It was open for the public from 10am to 3pm and each donor was treated with a free chocolate drink as a courtesy of CBTL.
The training manager of CBTL, Mohamad Fairuz bin Ibrahim, told the Bulletin that CBTL was the first franchise company to conduct a blood donation drive.
The supervisor of the Blood Donation Centre, Haji Matusop bin Haji Daud, said that the CBTL is one of the convenient locations to conduct blood donation drive. It also helps to target youth, aged 17 and above, to donate their blood.
One of the donors, Maslen binti Punchak from Utamacon Management and Quality Surveyors told the Bulletin, “This is the first time I am donating blood. Earlier I did not have the opportunity to donate blood due to circumstances, but today I got the opportunity to save lives.”
She also said that the location of the donation drive was a favourite among the youth, thus encouraging them to donate.
