Prosthetic limb helps ‘Selendang’ walk again

TEMERLOH (Bernama) – Export-Import Bank of Malaysia Berhad (EXIM Bank) chairman Datuk Mat Noor Rawi could not hide his joy on meeting Selendang, the 12-year-old female elephant who resides at the National Elephant Conservation Centre (NECC) in Kuala Gandah.

Mat Noor occasionally glanced at Selendang’s left foot, and a feeling of satisfaction crept over him looking at the RM9,000 prosthetic leg sponsored by the bank after the elephant lost her limb at the age of two. It was with the help of that prosthetic limb that she is able to walk again.
