IN CONJUNCTION with the final term school holidays, the Islamic Dakwah Centre through its Library Unit, Research and Publishing Section yesterday held its Islamic Dakwah Centre Travelling Library with the theme “Dakwah through Library”. The event was held at the Religious Activity House of Kampong Bebuloh.
This year, the Islamic Dakwah Centre’s library activity for the final year school holidays was held outside the Islamic Dakwah Centre, which focused more on the children of new Muslim converts of Kampong Bebuloh.
The activity is aimed at promoting the Islamic Dakwah Centre’s library to new Muslim converts as well as members of the public and to support the reading culture campaign as mentioned by His Majesty the Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam in a titah during the New Year 2013 celebration on January 1, 2013.
This activity was also to encourage and instill the habit of reading among children, teenagers and youth Muslim converts while also exposing them to religious-themed activities and strengthening their relationship with members of the Islamic Dakwah Centre.
Among the activities held were Jawi Writing Contest, Khat Writing Contest, Jawi Reading Contest, Call for Prayer (Azan) Contest and the Common Quranic Verses Memorisation. The closing ceremony and the presentation of prizes will be held today (December 4).
