THE Brunei Hotel recently hosted ‘The Brunei Hotel and Raw Food Asia Wellness Weekend’ with invited guests comprising management and staff of TOTAL. Talks were delivered by three invited speakers namely Susan Laing from the UK, Lindsay Culclasure from the US and Md Shariff Abdullah Peter from Singapore.
Susan Laing is a top British iridologist who presented a short lecture on the healthy benefit of eating fruits and vegetables followed by a talk by Mohd Shariff Abdullah Peter, the inspirational ‘blade runner’.
Mohd Shariff is a professional athlete from Singapore and the first mobility impaired marathoner in Asia who shared his experience on how a diet rich in fruits and vegetables have transformed his running career. Shariff also known as the ‘Sg Blade Runner’ is the brand ambassador for The North Face and Soleus Running in Singapore, Malaysia and Brunei.
Durian Lindsay, as how she is known, is a young American who discovered her passion in Durian – the exotic Asian King of Fruit. Lindsay is famous for her blog and her website www.yearofthedurian.com. She has been to almost all durian producing countries and has just written a book on the health benefits of eating durian.
‘The Brunei Hotel and Raw Food Asia Wellness Weekend’ was initiated by Andy Goh, the General Manager of The Brunei Hotel.
In addition to the wellness presentation, Dian Indria, Executive Chef of The Brunei Hotel also showcased his creativity on Raw Food diet by featuring two special dishes namely Rainbow Salad with Tahini Dressing and Wrapped Seaweed Sandwich, promoting tasty fruits and vegetables in the nouveau cuisine fashion.
