THE Department of Administration and Services, Ministry of Education (MoE), yesterday started its socialisation programme on the new Teaching Service Scheme (SPG) for primary and secondary schools as well as colleges.
The first session was held at the Pengiran Jaya Negara Pengiran Haji Abu Bakar Secondary School, Mumong, which saw the attendance of about 100 teachers from the Department of Schools, Technical Education Institutions, Curriculum Department and Private Education Section in the Belait District.
Also present was Pg Hj Bahrin bin Pg Hj Sulaiman, Acting Assistant Director of Administration and Services from the Ministry of Education. The briefing was delivered by Zamrani bin Md Yassin, Head of the Secretariat of Teaching Service Board, Ministry of Education.
Among the objectives were to provide better understanding of SPG and explain its tasks and responsibilities of SPG; the procedures and requirements for promotion; the status of adopting, absorbing and coordinating posts and salaries; as well as to get feedback and input to improve the scheme.
The next programme will be held at the Ministry of Education on January 29 for teachers from the ministry who are attached to private institutions.
