A ‘PROGRAMME on Power Presenta-tion’ is being held at the Ministry of Development (MoD) as part of efforts for the enhancement, especially on the executive level, of capacity and self-confidence in presenting talks professionally.
Attending the talk yesterday as guest of honour was the Minister of Development, Pehin Orang Kaya Indera Pahlawan Dato Seri Setia Awg Hj Suyoi bin Hj Osman.
The talk was preceded by a Surah Al-Fatihah recitation, followed by a brief introduction of the ‘Program-me on Power Presentation’ delivered by an invited speaker Dr Victor SL Tan, Kuala Lumpur Strategic Change Consulting.
The two-day talk, which was attended yesterday by 25 heads of departments and senior officials, includes briefing sessions on ‘Faci-litating and Engaging the Audience’, ‘The Powerful Way to Make Presentation – The 7 S Approach’ and ‘The Art of Storytelling’, among others.
Dr Victor stressed that delivering presentations well is important for a message to get through to an audience, adding that a great and confident leader would be able to deliver his message clearly.
He also shared with participants the challenges faced by an average individual with regards to public speaking as well as the various steps and methods to deal with such pro-blems.
Among the talk’s objectives are for participants to learn the best method of delivering presentations while at the same time learning the ‘7 S Approach’, which has been proven to be the most effective method in and around Asia.
The talk also aims to teach participants how to influence customers and listeners, particularly those who may have trouble comprehending the message that is being delivered.
Also in attendance yesterday were the Permanent Secretary (Technical and Professional) at the MoD, Dato Paduka Hj Suhaimi bin Hj Gafar, Permanent Secretary (Administration and Finance) Hj Muhammad Lutfi bin Hj Abdullah, the Deputy Permanent Secretary, directors, heads of divisions/units as well as senior officials from the ministry and departments under it.
