IN CELEBRATION of the 30th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Brunei Darussalam and the Republic of Indonesia, an Indonesian and Bruneian Products Exhibition is held at The Atrium, The Mall, Gadong.
The opening ceremony yesterday was officiated by the Minister of Education, Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Kerna Dato Seri Setia (Dr) Haji Awang Abu Bakar bin Haji Apong and spouse, Datin Paduka Dayang Hajah Jahrah binti Haji Mohammad.
The Ambassador of Indonesia to Brunei Darussalam, Nurul Qomar, in her speech said that the bilateral relations between Brunei and Indonesia are becoming increasingly closer and strengthened in all fields.
She added that in commemorating the 30th anniversary, the Embassy of Indonesia in Brunei Darussalam has organised a line of events since early this year aimed at nurturing close cooperation.
“Through this exhibition, we hope that there will be more business contacts and opportunities to increase bilateral trade volume. Furthermore, there are also photo displays and cultural performances.

“Next year, Brunei Darussalam and other Asean countries will come into the Asean Community and we believed that these relations will pave way for a more strengthened cooperation between Indonesia and Brunei Darussalam that will eventually be beneficial for both countries as well as Asean,” she said.
The product exhibition will be held for two days and features 20 booths showcasing products from different regions in Indonesia as well as Brunei Darussalam.
The Indonesian embassy will also organise a business meeting tomorrow which will be participated by business individuals from both countries as they seek more opportunities in boosting economic cooperation – both in trade and investment.
