DAMIT WorleyParsons Engineering Sdn Bhd donated 10 sets of used computers to the Belait District Office in a handover ceremony held on Thursday at the Qiadah Hall of the Belait District Office building.
Present at the ceremony were the Belait District Officer, Haji Haris bin Haji Othman; Managing Director of Damit WorleyParsons Engineering Sdn Bhd, Haji Mohd Nasar bin Haji Momin; and Assistant Belait District Officer, Mohd Hasmiron bin Haji Mohd Taib; as well as officials and staff from the Belait District Office and Damit WorleyParsons Engineering.
The Human Resources Manager of Damit WorleyParsons, Haji Hamdan bin Haji Abdul Hamid, said the donation was part of the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility. The donation will be used by the head of mukims and villages.
“We approach the Belait District Officer to donate our used computers as we have upgraded our computer system. We also informed them that the company will help whenever they can,” the Human Resources Manager said. The company also held a blood donation drive yesterday at the office premises.
The Belait District Officer hoped that the initiative would set an example to other private companies, not only in the Belait District but also throughout the Sultanate.
