THE Prisons Department and Women’s Prison Institution held a closing ceremony and presentation of certificates for the Al-Quran and Aqidah Understanding Scheme course.
The course was organised for the Women’s Prison Institution personnel which took place at Bukit Pantai Hall of the Jerudong Prison.
Present as the guest of honour at the event was the Director of Prisons, Haji Ismail bin Haji Murat, who presented the certificates to eight female officers from the institution.
It was the second edition of the course – carried out every Tuesday – held by the Centre of Studies and Dissemination of Al-Quran (MABIMS) of the Ministry of Religious Affairs (MoRA).
Among the objectives of the course were to enhance their understandings on morals and etiquettes along with appreciation for Al-Quran, and practising the teachings in their daily life.
At the same time, the course aimed to produce generations that fully understand the meaning of Al-Quran as a catalyst towards physical and spiritual development.
The closing ceremony was also attended by the Acting Director of MABIMS, Acting Deputy Director of the Prisons Department and heads of management.
