Preparing retiring TAP employees for life after work

THE Employees Trust Fund (TAP) through its Retirement Planning Services Division conducted a “10 years towards retirement” roadshow to TAP members at the Theatre Hall, Ministry of Finance Building in Jalan Kebangsaan.

The event is part of TAP’s initiative to create awareness on the importance of retirement planning especially to TAP members who will be retiring in 10 years. The briefing covered the importance of retirement planning as well as financial planning.

Hajah Raeidyah binti Haji Bujang, Senior Retirement Advisor of TAP’s Retirement Planning Services Division explained the important aspects of early planning to better equip the members in preparing themselves towards their retirement days.

She shared the statistics of TAP members withdrawal for the past three years which showed a positive impact for those who made the initiative to increase their savings through consistent voluntary contributions.

The second session was on financial planning delivered by Haji Shamsul bin Haji Muhamad, a certified Financial Planner from the Financial Planning Association of Brunei Darussalam (FPAB).

He elaborated about the importance of financial planning particularly on how to manage one’s finance prudently. He also shared tips and tools to plan for retirement.

Apart from the briefing, TAP also provides booth for consultation session where the members were able to obtain the current balance of their TAP and SCP savings and at the same time they can register as e-Amanah online portal user to enable them to use TAP online services.

TAP also collaborated with Autoriti Monetari Brunei Darussalam’s (AMBD) Credit Bureau and Financial Consumer Issues Unit particularly to provide credit report and awareness of the get-rich-quick schemes.
