IN PREPARATION for the upcoming Fitness Fiesta 2015, an exercise session was held yesterday at the Seri Mulia Sarjana School in Kampong Jangsak.
The exercises commenced with a Zumba session led by Thalgo Fitness Studio and saw participation by dozens of pre-school students and their parents and guardians.
Archivald Quers, Senior Master for CCA and Activities of the school said, “The Fitness Fiesta 2015 is a charity event aimed at promoting a healthy lifestyle through exercise, healthy diet and sport activities, with the proceeds of the event going toward the Pengiran Muda Mahkota Al-Muhtadee Billah Fund for Orphans (DANA). “We are conducting five different types of activities which are held every Friday including zumba, hip-hop, sh’bam, futsal and basketball tournaments for our students,” he said.
He added that the whole Sarjana community, including the students from preschool, primary and secondary sections have been given a Fitness Fiesta donation card to collect donations for the project and participants who collect a minimum of $35 will be given a free limited edition Fitness Fiesta shirt.
“The Fitness Fiesta donation card is also available to the public. For those who are interested in participating in our event, the entrance is free,” he added.
Throughout the Fitness Fiesta 2015, The Energy Kitchen, has been invited to sell its healthy selection of food and showcase good diets in order to help children shift from junk food to healthy food.
In attendance during the exercises were Principal of Seri Mulia Sarjana School’s Secondary Section, Gazala binti Abdullah, and Acting Principal of the Preschool and Primary section, Putri M Simanjuntak. Representatives from Pusat Ehsan Al-Ameerah Al-Hajjah Maryam also attended.
