THE Brunei Darussalam Scouts Association (PPNBD), in collaboration with the Department of Co-Curriculum Education, will be participating in the Perak International Scouts Jamboree on November 24–30 in Perak.
The jamboree will be officiated by Sultan Nazrin Muizzuddin Shah ibni Almarhum Sultan Azlan Muhibbuddin Shah Al-Maghfurlah, Sultan of Perak on November 25.
A flag handover ceremony took place at the Brunei Darussalam Scouts Association (PPNBD) headquarters, Scouts Complex, Jalan Gadong.
The guest of honour was the President of the Brunei Darussalam Scouts Association, Dato Paduka Ar Haji Idris bin Haji Abas.
The guest of honour received the national flag from Pengiran Suhaimi bin Pengiran Haji Bakar, the Director of Co-Curriculum Education, to be given to the Head Scout contingent of Brunei Darussalam Scouts Association, Mohammad Shahruni bin Haji Sarbini.
Also in attendance were Chief Commissioner of PPNBD, Haji Awang Badar bin Haji Ali; Secretary General of PPNBD, Haji Zainuddin bin Haji Jaafar; scout commissioner; scout officers; Head of the Uniform Groups and Community Services Division from the Department of Co-Curriculum Education, Jalil bin Pengarah Haji Kapitan as well as officials from the Uniform Groups and Community Services Division from the Department of Co-Curriculum Education.
PPNBD will be sending a total of 10 Scout Leaders and 18 members of Junior Scout and Venture Scout for this jamboree.
The seven-day jamboree provides various skill oriented activities designed to challenge the physical endurance of the participants.
Approximately 7,000 participants from Asean member countries are expected to join the jamboree.
