THE Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF) yesterday handed over posters in commemoration of the 40th anniversary since women were allowed to join the police force.
The event was held at the Putera Negara Conference Room of RBPF headquarters.
The guest of honour was the Commissioner of the RBPF, Dato Paduka Seri Awang Bahrin bin Mohd Noor. Also present were directors, deputy directors, commanding officers and senior officials as well as general police personnel.
Senior Superintendent, Dinah binti Amat Daud, presented the posters to the guest of honour, who in turn distributed the posters to heads of departments, commanding officers, representatives from government departments and the media.
The highlight of the celebration is expected to be the Guard of Honour Inspection scheduled for today at the RBPF’s banquet hall.
Policewomen have played an important role in the RBPF since 1974 and their responsibilities are just limited to office work but also include traffic control and carrying out investigations.
