WE WISH to refer to the Opinion letter, “Disappointed with Postal Services Department”, by ‘Not A Happy Customer’, which was published on the August 16, 2014 edition of the Weekend Bulletin.
First of all, we appreciate the writer’s effort in bringing this matter to our attention and we sincerely apologise for the unfortunate situation experienced by him/her regarding retrieval of his/her expected package from abroad.
We wish to assure the writer as well as the public that we are striving to ensure this experience is minimised as much as possible.
In this particular incident, we wish to request that the writer come forward again to inform us of the tracking number and other details so that a search can be made more stringently.
We will do our very best to locate the package through our track and trace system and if indeed it has arrived in the country, we shall then issue the writer with a confirmation card and inform him/her as soon as possible once the package is physically located.
At the same time, if our system can confirm that the package has actually NOT arrived, we will inform the writer as soon as possible to avoid further waiting on his/her part.
As an obligation, we will do further investigations with respective posting administrations to find out where the package is and why it has not arrived. We would like to take this opportunity to invite members of the public with similar experiences to approach their nearest post office so that we may render necessary assistance where required.
Once again, we thank the writer for his/her feedback so that we can continue to take swift remedial measures to further improve services for the public.
