KUALA LUMPUR (Bernama) – A policeman and a teenager were among six people who were tentatively charged in the Magistrate’s Court here yesterday with kidnapping a ‘Datuk’.
Corporal Muhammad Al-Mubarak Zulkifli, 33, and the 17-year-old juvenile allegedly kidnapped the businessman aged 33, for a ransom of RM790,000, at Jalan 2 Off Jalan Chan Sow Lin, Salak Selatan here at 6.17pm on June 26.
They are jointly charged with committing the offence with vehicle repossessor Rizal Affandi Shafiee, 35; former soldier Mohamad Nordin Senapi, 35; Lee Han Keat, 38; H Ravinder Jeet Singh, 41; and other persons still at large.
No plea was recorded from them.
The charge under Section 3 of the Kidnapping Act 1961 read with Section 34 of the Penal Code, provides for life imprisonment or the death sentence upon conviction.
