THE person who caused a brief commotion at Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Saleha (RIPAS) Hospital Sunday night has been identified and is currently being investigated by the Royal Brunei Police Force.
The suspect, a local aged 38, is being investigated under Chapter 148, Public Order Act Section 29 for brandishing a dangerous object in public places.
If found guilty, he faces jail of at least a year and not exceeding 10 years as well as three strokes of the cane.
A photo of the incident was circulated in social media that showed a man holding a baseball bat at the ground floor of the hospital.
According to security officials guarding the area close to the Accident and Emergency Department of the hospital, the man was seen wandering around the lobby area and entrance to Ward 4 situated nearby carrying dangerous objects at 9.40pm.
He is believed to have family ties with a hospital staff and following the incident was sent back home without any further disturbance.
There was no reported damage or losses.
