BRUNEI Darussalam ended their campaign in the 2014 AFF Futsal Championship without collecting a single point following a 15-1 trouncing by Indonesia in their final group match at Melawati Stadium in Selangor, Malaysia.
In contrast, Indonesia became the first team to qualify for the semi-final after winning their third consecutive match in Group A.
Australia joined Indonesia in the last four after defeating Malaysia 3-0.
Indonesia asserted their dominance in the tournament since the opening game and have grown from strength to strength.
Scoring 35 goals in just three games, Indonesia are a force to be reckoned with, although other teams – such as Thailand and Vietnam – are also in a rich vein of form.
Under the tutelage of head coach Dadang Iskandar, Indonesia raced to a 7-0 lead by half- time yesterday.
Brunei’s consolation – only their second goal of the tournament – came from Muhammad Dhiyaulhak bin Awang Abdul Rahim.
