THE Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) and the departments under it yesterday held the 1436 Hijrah celebration. It was co-organised by the Audit Department and Civil Service Institute at the Banquet Hall, PMO.
The guest of honour was the Minister of Finance II at the Prime Minister’s Office, Pehin Orang Kaya Laila Setia Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Abdul Rahman bin Haji Ibrahim.
The event began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah by Imam Awang Haji Md Afdzillah bin Haji Md Yussof, Mosque Affairs Officer at the Mosque Affairs Department. It was followed by the recitation of the verses of Al-Quran by Awang Muhd Fahmie bin Haji Awang Metussin.
A welcoming remark was delivered by the Acting Deputy Auditor General, Pengiran Hajah Fauziah binti Pengiran Haji Muhammad Kifli, in her capacity as the event chairperson.
A special talk entitled ‘Rahsia Hijrah Dalam Kehidupan’ was delivered by Ustaz Awang Isham bin Ismail, a Religious Development Officer from the Islamic Dakwah Centre. The talk highlighted the historical journey of Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) from Makkah to Madinah and explained how the significant event should be internalised by every Muslim and made a lesson in their life.
The event was attended by permanent secretaries, deputy permanent secretaries, senior officials, and staff members from the Prime Minister’s Office as well as the departments under it.
The event was held as part of an ongoing effort to celebrate major Islamic auspicious days in Brunei Darussalam and to strengthen the relationship among the officers and staff members of PMO and the departments under it.
