AFTER a successful sports day held last Tuesday which marked the opening of the first-ever Mechanical Training Centre (PLM) Farewell Fiesta 2014 for its second intake Industry Skills Qualification (ISQ) students, the fiesta continued its second day yesterday with talent and creative shows held at its Multipurpose Hall.
The farewell fiesta was held for the students before they went off for their trainings and attachments at their respective Registered Training Organisations (RTO) soon.
A total of nine groups are competing in the fiesta.
The morning session saw a talent show which saw representatives from all nine groups battling it out.
It was won by the B3 group, while C3 came in second and C2 third.
This was then followed by a Newspaper Creative Design Fashion Show.
In the afternoon, dodgeball and ping pong tournaments were held.
The four-day is held at different venues and arranged for the second intake ISQ students to celebrate their completion of six-month in-campus studies at PLM and the beginning of their training sessions for another six months at their assigned RTOs.
According to Programme Coordinator Zaharuddin Hj Abd Rahman, the objective of the activities was to expose the students to extra-curricular activities.
The third day of the fiesta will see a bowling tournament held at the MegaStrike Bowling Centre, Airport Mall, in the morning, and a pool tournament at Fullcan, Beribi, in the afternoon.
For the closing of the fiesta on September 20, the activities will be held at Muara Beach.
There will be activities such as volleyball, beach soccer and coconut bowling, and will end with a tug of war.
