THE Korean wave has made a splash worldwide and has now hit the shores of Brunei Darussalam with the launch of the all-new Bulgogi K-Pop Pizza and Bulgogi K-Pop Wings by the country’s leading pizza restaurant, Pizza Hut Brunei last Saturday night at its branch at The Mall, Gadong.
Available now at all Pizza Hut outlets nationwide, the Bulgogi Pizza was inspired by the trending K-pop culture and feedback from customers.
It comes in three crust types: Pan, Golden Stuffed Crust and Artisan, and is available with a choice of Korea’s beef or chicken Bulgogi toppings.
The pizza’s unique feature is its crispy chips topping, which makes every bite extra-crunchy. Components used to create it include golden cheesy pops, sliced pineapples, fresh peppers and capsicums, and a ‘special sauce’ flown in from South Korea – giving the pizza that bit of authenticity.
“At Pizza Hut, we’re constantly experimenting with new and innovative recipes as we want to create the tastiest menu around for our diners,” said a Pizza Hut Brunei representative.
“You can’t beat one of Korea’s most popular dishes made from thinly-sliced lean beef and chicken breasts marinated to perfection, and when infused with our fresh ingredients it’s really a local taste everyone can relate to. We can’t wait for our guests to try it.”
To give diners more of the Korean feel, the K-Pop Chicken Wings has been offered for a limited time. The new dish is the sixth flavour in Pizza Hut’s famous WingStreet menu.
The wings, prepared using the most traditional Korean cooking techniques to ensure its signature crunchy texture and coated with a spicy glazed sauce, go particularly well with the Bulgogi K-Pop Pizza.
The new Bulgogi K-Pop Pizza comes in the following options: ‘Regular’, ‘Large’, and also as a ‘Bundle’ which includes the Bulgogi K-Pop Pizza, K-Pop Chicken Wings and a pitcher of soft drink.
The launch of the new menu was held at Pizza Hut Brunei’s outlet at The Mall, Gadong and attended by guests comprising students from Seri Mulia Sarjana School, members from the Korean Culture Club of Universiti Brunei Darussalam, and loyal Pizza Hut customers. There were also special appearances from local Cosplay enthusiasts.
A K-pop dance song was also performed by Pizza Hut staff during the launch, much to the delight of onlookers.
The public were also treated to free product samplings and took part in activities to win exclusive cash vouchers from the American pizza franchise.
