Why pharmacy medication limit on Friday?

RECENTLY my usual supply of medicine has been running low so I went to my nearest health centre to get a new supply. I usually get my prescribed three-months’ worth of medication.

So I decided to go to the health centre on a Friday to avoid traffic, since it was not a working day. The dispensary staff informed me that because it was a Friday or a non-working day, the pharmacies are not allowed to give more than five-days’ worth of medicinal supplies.

I find this to be a ridiculous rule. I don’t find this a smart and efficient way for a government servant to get their errands done, especially since they might not have the time to go to the pharmacies on a working day. Can the dispensary services provide some explanation about this and can those in management also provide their feedback on this?
