BRUNEI Malay Teachers Association (PGGMB) recently held an annual hi-tea reception to mark the year end and to celebrate the success of schools under PGGMB.
The event was also to appreciate the contributions made by principals, teachers to increase the academic achievement of schools and the involvement in co-curricular activities.
The guest of honour was the PGGMB President, Haji Antin bin Ahad. Also present were supreme council members and administrative committee members of PGGMB, principals and teachers of PGGMB Secondary School in Sg Akar, Tunas Jaya PGGMB Schools in Madang, Lambak and Kuala Belait.
In his speech, Haji Antin said the commitment of school administrators in their tasks and their respective skills are the core factors in determining the academic achievementof the students.
“Success is not necessarily decided by the high academic achievement of the teachers. PGGMB never questioned the teachers’ academic qualifications and this has been proven by the excellent achievement in the previous years,” he added.
PGGMB schools have been able to able to maintain 80 per cent and above pass rate in the Primary School Assessment (PSR) and its administration hopes to record 100 per cent pass rate like in the previous years.
