SIXTEEN members of the Brunei Malay Teachers Association (PGGMB) left for Pulau Pinang, Malaysia, yesterday to attend the 15th Nusantara Teachers’ Meet (PGN) which commenced yesterday.
The delegation was led by Cikgu Haji Antin bin Ahad, the President of PGGMB. This year, the PGN is hosted by Malaysia and is organised by the Western Malaysia Malay Teachers’ Union (KGMMB.
The theme of the seminar is ‘Budaya Serumpun Sebagai Wahana Meningkatkan Kualiti Umat Nusantara’ which aims to explain on the role of education and professional teachers in strengthening the solidarity and harmonisation among the Malay countries in Asean.
The seminar is attended by teachers associations from several Asean countries including Brunei Darussalam, Malaysia, Indonesia and Singapore, which are also members of the Asean Council of Teachers.
