A LOCAL youngster facing a charge of armed robbery linked to the recent Mar’azmala Petrol Station incident appeared with his lawyer at the High Court yesterday to apply for bail, which was allowed.
Justice Dato Paduka Steven Chong released 20-year-old Haji Muhammad Dhiyaulhaq bin Haji Ariffin on bail with conditions put forward by the prosecution, being – $10,000 or two local sureties, not to approach the prosecution’s potential witness and the petrol station, and a 10pm to 7am curfew.
The defendant was arrested at home on September 17 at 1.50am. He is alleged to have stolen $3,900 from the petrol station, armed with a machete and caused fear of instant hurt to a 21-year-old Indonesian employee of the station.
