DARUSSALAM Motorcycle Association (PEMODA) will be hosting the 16th Annual Borneo Island International Big Bike Festival (BIIBBF) on May 1-3.
PEMODA President Pengiran Haji Redzuan bin Pengiran Haji Ahmad said that the event, which Brunei also hosted in 2001, 2005 and 2010, is co-organised by the Youth and Sports Department, Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports.
“In the early days, the concept was a bikers gathering where friends met up,” he said before adding, “However in recent years, this concept had been somewhat lacking.
“We aim to reinstate the concept as a reminder of the old days of BIIBBF in the festival was all about the motorcycle communities, friendship and passion for motorcycling.”
Just like previous BIIBBF, the coming event in Brunei is expected to attract hundreds of participants from Borneo, West Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines and European countries.
He reminded all members of the BIIBBF Committee to work hard to ensure the success of the BIIBBF in Brunei. “It’s not just for the sake of PEMODA’s image but also the pride and honour of our great nation.”
The BIIBBF is held annually with each country in Borneo given the opportunity to host the event.
Brunei Darussalam, Sabah, Kalimantan, Labuan and Sarawak have all took turns to host the event since 1999.
