PEGASTAR FT sent a signal of intent for the first-ever Brunei Futsal League title after demolishing Silveredz 7-0 at the Multi- Purpose Hall of the Hassanal Bolkiah Sports Complex last night.
Pegastar mercilessly exposed defensive frailties with Ak Md Hanis Marzuki leading the destruction with a hat-trick in the 1st, 12th and 38th minute including a goal that demonstrated the team’s ambition and pursuit for the title.
They staged a late recovery in the first game and were in the periphery of a defeat but there were no such problems this time around.
Abd Hadi scored in the 22nd minute while Md Ali Qadhrry joined his team-mate in the score- sheet in the 25th minute.
Brunei Darussalam’s national player Md Dhiyaulhak contributed with two late goals in the 35th and 39th minute.
Silveredz had the chance to get into the scoreboard but failed to convert a penalty in the closing minutes.
Their No 10 were the first to react from the miss but skewed his shot wide under pressure.
Silveredz’s second loss of the tournament put them at the opposite end of the table while Pegastar ensured they are back in the title hunt.
Silveredz also have a worrying defensive record in the league having leaked 12 goals in the two completed matches.
