A RECEPTION for Pakistani nationals living in Brunei Darussalam who have been bestowed awards from His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam’s Government for their good services was held at the Pakistan High Commission in Brunei Darussalam recently.
The High Commissioner of Pakistan to Brunei Darussalam, Major General (Rtd) Tariq Rashid Khan, while hosting the reception, gave appreciation to the performance and services of Pakistanis living in Brunei Darussalam in different fields. He said, “The performances and services have been acknowledged by the Government of His Majesty with the awarding of medals to them over a period of time”.
The high commissioner remarked that the medal recipients “represent the best Pakistanis living abroad” and assured them of his full support.
He also urged them to continue working hard and be useful and productive members of the Pakistani community living in Brunei Darussalam, and to play their roles in fostering brotherhood between the two countries.
“We all are fortunate to live in a country which is truly an abode of peace, harmony, progress and prosperity amongst the world community,” he said.
Meanwhile, Pakistani military doctors serving in Brunei Darussalam for the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) recently called on the High Commissioner at the Pakistan High Commission in Brunei Darussalam.
During their visit, the high commissioner spoke with the doctors about the importance and significance of their stay in Brunei, and expressed his appreciation for their dedication and services to the RBAF, assuring them of his full support.
He added that their presence in the country highlights the warm and brotherly relationship which exists between Brunei and Pakistan, and expressed hope that they would leave a good legacy of hard work, dedication and professionalism, as well as play an important role to further strengthen the bilateral relations between the two countries.
