KEMAMAN (Bernama) – A total 75 families from Kampung Padang Kubu, were forced to move back to a flood relief centre after their homes were inundated by floods late Wednesday night.
A victim, Zainab Osman, 57, said they returned home at 7.30pm on Wednesday after the situation improved and flood water was receding from their village. However, she said they were forced to go back to the shelter at the Padang Kubu Mosque when water rose to thigh level.
“I moved out since two days ago when the flood water was at knee level and when it receded I opted to go home and check on the house.
“But the water rose less than four hours later and we were forced to move out,” she said when met at the relief centre yesterday.
She said the second wave was quite bad and water started to enter her house in a matter of hours and she failed to save anything.
Meanwhile, a Bernama survey around Kampung Air Putih, Kampung Tebak and Kampung Dadung found some of the houses in the area were inundated up to their roofs, while the roads were also under water.
