THE two-day workshop on Using Packaging Materials for Food and Beverage came to a close yesterday with the presentation of certificates to over 300 participants at the Horticulture Centre in Rimba.
Guest of honour, Director of Agriculture and Agrifood, Hajah Aidah binti Haji Mohd Hanifah later handed over certificates to 36 food and beverage supplying companies, 300 small take-away business owners, non-governmental organisation and 60 officers from departments under the Ministry of Industry and Primary Resources (MIPR) and the Ministry of Health (MoH), Ministry of Development (MoD), Ministry of Home Affairs (MoHA) and Ministry of Religious Affairs (MoRA).
The workshop was conducted by officers of the Department of Health Services of the MoH; the Department of Environment, Parks and Recreation (JASTRe), MoD and the Department of Agriculture and Agrifood of the MIPR.
The workshops which highlighted the importance of health and safety issues in the use of packaging materials, featured a mini exhibition showcasing tips and examples of packaging materials with the accredited food grading.
