MEMBERS of the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) at The Philippine Embassy in Brunei Darussalam completed the Computer Training for OFWs programme and received their certificates at Cosmopolitan College of Commerce and Technology, yesterday.
The guest of honour was Nestor Z Ochoa, Ambassador of the Philippines to Brunei Darussalam. The event began with the singing of the Philippines national anthem followed by opening remarks from Violeta D Illescas, Labour Attache’ at the Philippines Embassy.
The guest of honour then proceeded to present the certificates to participants including special awards to two best students from the basic and advance courses.
Participants also gave testimonials on their progress throughout their courses. The programme, sponsored by the Philippine Overseas Labor Office (POLO) and OWWA, was divided into two short courses; the Basic Computer Training course to introduce basics and features of Microsoft Word 2013; and the Advanced Computer Training course to introduce the basic and new features of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Powerpoint 2013. The programme was made successful with the help of K-Mas Management Sdn Bhd.
