THE pedestrian overhead bridge near Sultan Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien College (SOASC) is set to be completed before February 19.
According to Rafitra bin Haji Razak, Acting Senior Engineer from Road Maintenance Section of Public Works Department, “The fencing will be raised at the middle of the road’s divider once the overhead bridge is completed. This is to encourage schoolchildren to use the overhead bridge and not cross the roads.”
The recent accident of a car allegedly knocking down a student has stressed the importance of schoolchildren using the right and existing facilities when crossing the road. The victim, who is a student of SOASC, suffered a serious injury and is recovering from the ordeal.
