FIVE orphans from the Centre for Children with Special Needs (KACA Association) received financial donations to purchase basic necessities for the new school year, yesterday.
On hand to present the donations was Dato Paduka Haji Zainal bin Haji Momin, President of the KACA Association. The event began with a recitation of the Surah Al-Fatihah followed by welcoming remarks from the Managing Director of KACA, Haji Awg Abd Alim who thanked sponsors for providing educational aid to the students.
“KACA is very concerned about orphans within this association. We have also developed several programmes next year including the Menabung Project within five years for the children,” he said.
A walkathon event will also be held in March next year. Speaking to the media, Dayang Hajah Rohani binti Haji Masri, a single mother of nine children, expressed her gratitude for the aid to purchase school supplies for her 15-year-old son, Ak Mohammad Safwan bin Haji Md Said, who is a member of the KACA Association.
Also at the ceremony were Haji Awang Abd Alim bin Haji Awg Othman, Managing Director of KACA Association, invited guests, parents and guardians of the recipients as well as staff members of KACA.
