SCHOOL open days provide students more information about the subjects they wish to take.
This was said by Shim Sheau Huei, Senior Master Academic (Pre U), during the open day held yesterday by Sayyidina Ali Secondary School (SMSA), at its multipurpose hall.
The school offers 19 subjects – divided into two sections – the Humanities and the Science streams.
Shim said that the event aimed to make parents and students more aware of the subjects offered in ‘A’ Level when they are deciding future careers.
“We see students make poor decisions. They suffer when they don’t see the relevance of the subjects (for their future).”
Asyraf bin Awang Azlan, 17, from Anthony Abell College (AAC) said that he went to the open day with a few school mates to have a better insight of their possible future.
Radi’atul Ewana Shafina binti Abdul Rahman, 18, who wished to enrol in PAP Rashidah Sa’adatul Bolkiah Institute of Health Sciences, was looking for more information on subjects relating to health.
Radiatul Afiqah binti Muhd Dani, 15, wanted to take Science subjects to pursue her dream of becoing an engineer in the oil and gas industry.
