BRUNEI is still developing its tourism industry and it is essential for all stakeholders to work together in bringing the industry to its full potential.
This was mentioned by Shamsul Bahrin bin Pehin Haji Ahmad, the General Manager of Orchid Garden Hotel (OGH), during his opening remarks at the 15th anniversary celebration of the hotel held at the Vanda Restaurant.
“We have definitely seen a lot of challenges over the past 15 years. This year, especially, has seen a significant decrease in the overall business, not only for the tourism industry but also for other industries,” said the general manager.
On another note, Shamsul Bahrin highlighted that OGH has achieved another milestone in terms of building safety, security and fire precaution where the hotel continues to be at the forefront. “I believe that not only between hotels but also amongst other commercial buildings, we take our building safety and security very seriously.”
The event continued with a cake-cutting ceremony led by the members of the board of directors, Pehin Orang Kaya Setia Pahlawan Dato Seri Setia Dr Hj Ahmad bin Hj Jumat and Datin Hjh Masnah binti Hj Tuah.
Also attending the anniversary event were foreign diplomats and ambassadors to Brunei as well as prominent business figures in the private sector.
