THE Enforcement Division of the Belait District Office recently carried out a joint inspection with the Health Services Department, Kuala Belait on hawkers who carry out business activities at the Tamuneka Kampong Sungai Bera of Mukim Seria.
The objective was to check if the stalls, which sell beverages and food items, abide by rules and regulations under the Business Licence Act, that have been enforced since January 1. The officers checked if the cleanliness and hygiene of the stalls, including the utensils, were being maintained.
A few food supervisors were reprimanded and advised by the inspection officers from the Health Services Department regarding the proper procedures of serving and taking care of the food. Meanwhile, the officials from the Enforcement Division of the Belait District Office gave verbal warning to the hawkers about their failure to bring their original licence.
Monitoring and patrols will be carried out from time to time to avoid violation of rules and regulations of the Belait District Office so that the hygiene and safety of the business premises and public places around the district are maintained.
