REGISTRATION for the upcoming Obstacle Course Challenge that will be held in conjunction with the 53rd anniversary of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) has so far drawn 230 challengers, according to a statement from the secretariat’s office for the RBAF.
More people are expected to join until registration closes at 4pm today (September 27) at the Royal Brunei Air Force gym in Rimba. The challenge will take place at the mini stadium near the airforce base as well as within the base itself.
Cash prizes, medals and souvenirs are up for grabs in the challenge and according to a briefing yesterday, prospective participants shared their excitement at the idea of taking part in the challenge which is divided into civilian and military categories.
The civilian and military categories are divided into six sub-categories: Men’s Open, Women’s Open, Men’s Veteran (40 years old and above), Women’s Veteran (40 years old and above), Men’s Group, and Women’s Group.
The men’s category is a 10-kilometre obstacles course with lots of tyres, monkey bars, road barriers, staircases and a hill as well as more physical barriers. The women’s category is the same as the men’s except it takes place over a five-kilometre stretch.
