NINETY-SIX Year 6 pupils from Nusa Laila Puteri School and 15 from Nusa Jaya School received their Certificates of Completion of their primary education recently. The convocation ceremony was held at the Grand Ballroom of Hua Ho Manggis Mall.
The programme was attended by President, CEO and Principal of the school, Dr Pg Amir Mohd Yussof bin Pg Abbas Al-Haj, and his family, along with some guests from the Ministry of Education, and families of the graduates.
The ceremony promptly started upon the arrival of guest of honour, Pg Haji Rosli bin Pg Haji Halus, Acting Director of Administration and Services of the Ministry of Education.
Pg Hajah Sharriffah Hidayat binti Dr Pg Amir Mohd Yussof, Assistant Principal of the school, delivered her welcoming speech and congratulated the graduates for garnering 97.9 per cent passing rate in the PSR 2014 examination.
Haji Mat Ramlee bin Haji Ibrahim, a very supportive PTA officer of the school, gave an inspirational message to the graduates. Mursyida Nasreen binti Haji Nasurudin, a Year 6 pupil who aced her PSR examination also delivered her graduation speech.
She relayed how much she has enjoyed going to school and learning new things. And on behalf of her fellow graduates, she expressed her gratefulness to her teachers, school and administration and especially to Allah the Almighty for the academic distinction she achieved as a result of receiving quality education.
Following the speeches, the pupils from the different branches of the school performed Tausyeh, Nasyid, Puisi and a musical presentation.
Eleven pupils were also given awards of distinction for garnering 5As in the PSR 2014 and 12 students from the secondary also received awards for the exemplary academic performance.
To conclude the ceremony, the graduates sang “Up Where We Belong”, a song dedicated to their teachers and parents.
