THE weight of the nation rests on the shoulders of Nurulain binti Md Jaafar, Brunei Darussalam’s sole taekwondo competitor (under 73kg), who will meet Rasool Najia of Pakistan in the 17th Asian Games on October 3 at the Ganghwa Dolmens Gymnasium in Incheon.
According to the team manager, Nurulain has continued her regular light training to ensure her fitness level is maintained at a maximum.
The karate athletes also continued their fitness training at Yeongjong Sky Cultural Centre.
Meanwhile, the sepak takraw athletes rested ahead of their Men Regu event today. Brunei will begin their Men Regu preliminaries against India at the Bucheon Gymnasium at 11am.
They will play Malaysia and Nepal tomorrow and South Korea on Wednesday.
The sepak takraw, karate and taekwondo athletes have reported been training regularly and are in good condition.
They are advised to continue eating well and keeping themselves hydrated.
