PERBADANAN Tabung Amanah Islam Brunei (TAIB) recently held its annual dinner for all Perbadanan TAIB staff including those from its subsidiaries, Darussalam Holdings Sdn Bhd and Insurans Islam TAIB Sdn Bhd, at the Royal Berkshire Hall of the Jerudong Park Polo Club.
The annual dinner, which adopted the ‘Colour Blocking’ theme, was held to celebrate the hardwork and its long-serving staff members.
Minister of Religious Affairs cum advisor to Perbadanan TAIB’s Board of Directors Pengiran Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Mohammad bin Pengiran Haji Abdul Rahman was the guest of honour at the event.
The guest list included Deputy Minister of Home Affairs cum Perbadanan TAIB Chairman Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof, board members, Shariah Advisory Body to Perbadanan TAIB, Perbadanan TAIB Acting Managing Director Haji Rosdi Amin bin Dato Paduka Haji Yaakub, as well as personnel of Perbadanan TAIB and its subsidiaries.
The dinner started with a recitation of the Doa, which was then followed by welcoming remarks delivered by Haji Rosdi Amin.
Meanwhile, the guest of honour highlighted in his speech that implementing an Islamic financial system is one of the main teachings of Islam that should be followed and practiced by Muslims without any hesitation and doubt as the Islamic financial system contains ethical and moral values.
The contribution and role of Perbadanan TAIB as the first Islamic financial institution in Brunei is very valuable and significant in that its establishment has allowed Muslims in the country to carry out Syariah-compliant financial transactions in hope of gaining Allah SWT blessings, he said.
He also noted the growth of the Islamic Finance industry worldwide, whereby even non-Muslims are seen to participate in this industry due to its excellent foundation.
The key highlight of the evening was the presentation of Long Service Awards to 70 staff members who had served for five, 10, 15 and 20 years, while other activities included a lucky draw and staff performances.
