KUALA LUMPUR (Bernama) – The Malaysian Armed Forces (MAF) have deployed 40 officers, 531 personnel of various ranks, 32 military trucks, 23 boats, and five four-wheel drives as well as put several Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF) pilots on standby to help flood victims in the three east coast states.
Public relations staff officer at the Lt Col Zahrullail Hidayat said based on latest information from the MAF’s Public Defence Operation Centre, some 21 officers, 235 personnel of various ranks, 12 three-tonne trucks, and 14 boats have been deployed to Kelantan.
“The MAF has also deployed 17 officers, 211 personnel of various ranks, 11 three-tonne trucks, six boats and three four-wheel-drives to Terengganu.
“Whereas for Pahang, two officers, 85 personnel of various ranks, nine three-tonne trucks, three boats and one four-wheel-drive have been deployed to help flood victims there,” he told Bernama.
He added that RMAF pilots of CN235 and C130 planes have been readied at the Subang Air Base to help flood victims in Kelantan and Terengganu, while three EC 725 helicopters were on standby in Gong Kedak, Terengganu to help victims in Pahang.
