THE National Football Association of Brunei Darussalam (NFABD) will be organising the Brunei Futsal League for the first time this year. This is open to associations and clubs registered with NFABD.
Application forms are out and can be obtained at NFABD House, and any inquiry can be addressed to Hj Hamidon bin Hj Mohd Zain at 8738479 or NFABD House hotline, 2380047. The closing date is January 26 at 3pm.
Twelve futsal clubs will be selected to participate in the Brunei Futsal League 2015 this year. Competing clubs will have to register 20 players and five of them must be aged 21 and below.
Member registration fee is $50 and participation fee is $300.
Registered football field players are not allowed to take part. Every club that wishes to take part has to have a coach that is certified by NFABD.
This league will commence on February 1 and end on June 14 at Multipurpose Hall and Indoor Stadium of the Hassanal Bolkiah National Sports Complex.
Matches will be based on a round robin system. The club that achieves the highest points will be announced the winner.
Along with trophies and medal, the champions will win a cash prize of $3,000, runners-up ($2,000) and third ($1,000).
The aims of this championship are to enhance the level of futsal in the country, and scout talent and potential for the national squad that will represent the country at regional level championships, as well as at international level such as AFF, AFC, and FIFA, and other futsal championship invitations.
A meeting for team managers will be held on January 30 at NFABD House at 3pm.
