THE all-new Sonata, a modern vehicle geared with class-leading features designed using Hyundai Motor’s Fluidic Sculpture philosophy, was officially unveiled last night at local Hyundai distributor Setia Motors Sdn Bhd’s showroom in Beribi.
Present were Head of Hyundai Motor Company, Asia Pacific Regional Headquarter Kim Hoo-Keun, and Manager of Hyundai Motor Company, Asia Pacific Regional Headquarter Dongwook Lee.
The Sonata features a sophisticated evolution of the brand’s long-established mid-size sedan and represents the practical application of premium Hyundai Motor technologies first introduced in the new Genesis.
Displaying a refined, premium style, the Sonata showcases Hyundai Motor’s sleek exterior and intuitive interior design ethos, projecting a harmonious and athletic appearance.
Noah Joseph of Autoblog.com commented that the Sonata is the latest representation of a more toned-down family design language which Hyundai calls Fluidic Sculpture 2.0, following the lead set by the new Genesis and away from the swoopy and sharply creased styling of the successful but stylistically divisive model it replaces.
Setia Motors has brought in two different options of the Sonata – the 2.0L MPI and the 2.4L MPI that deliver 157ps and 178ps respectively.
The new model is 35mm longer and 30mm wider than its predecessor.
